On wall street today, a computer malfunction shut down trading on the New York Exchange for about an hour. Some analysts say the glitch contributed to the day's sell off. |

The Dow Jones Industrials Average closed down over 113 points. The Nasdaq composite was down over 48 points at the end of trading today. And the S and P 500 lost almost 12 points. Volume for 9:15-4:15: |

Here's a look at stocks of interest to New Hampshire investors. Shares of Autodesk were up 78 cents today. Cabletron stock was down almost a dollar at the close of trading. Shares of Oracle lost 32 cents today. Pennichuck Corporation stock was up three dollars and 75 cents a share today, while Texas Instruments stock lost a dollar and 40 cents a share. |

The traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall at Pease Air National Guard Base is drawing hundreds of visitors. The wall, which is half the size of the permanent memorial in Washington D-C, gives people the opportunity to honor the nation's Vietnam veterans. More than 58 thousand names are on the wall. It will be at Pease until Monday. |

New Hampshire's Lakes Region is geared up for the annual rumble of motorcyles. Bikers from around the world are expected in and around Laconia over the next week. Extra police from around the state also will be in the area to keep an eye on the hundreds of thousands of expected visitors. |

People in the Plymouth area today spent the day celebrating the opening of their new covered bridge. It's called the Smith Millenium Bridge and it spans the Baker River. Town folks have been waiting for this new bridge ever since the old one burned down in 1993. According to the National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges the $3.3 million bridge is the strongest covered bridge in the world! |

There has been a significant increase in the number of homeless people in the greater Nashua area. According to an agency that serves the needs of the homeless in the region, 646 people needed permanent shelter. The Greater Nashua Continuum of Care says that almost half of that group were living on the streets. Community officials point out that the homeless population is not just comprised of single people, but also families and children. |
