You're used to seeing other journalists with me here on Fridays - but this week - just a day after the the fourth of July holiday - we thought it would be a good time to get an update on the state of homeland security in the granite state. To help us do that Don Bliss joins me - drector of homeland security in NH and state epidemiologist, Jesse Greenblatt.
We want to let folks know up front that we pretaped our discussion on July 3rd.

--What are you most concerned about?
-Terrorist threats you would have to deal with the most?
-Be vigilant what does that mean?
How about security vs. personal freedom OR distrust of "different" people
Speculate on terrorist planning?
-What most vulnerable poisoning water - supply spreading of viruses?
-Anthrax ?
- Federal dollars being sent
-Wonderful excuse for new toys
- What is the status of the state's rapid response system?
- How has it been improved since September 11th?
What has been done in NH to increase security for the holiday weekend?
- Have there been any changes in events this year? New procedures?
- Hazardous materials response coordinator what does that mean
-interoperablitlity of state agency communications
Is this an aspect of modern life have to get used to - threats not easily resolved
-Are we safer now than we were a year ago?
-Why?
-What about small pox?
- Are there any new concerns about other chemical or biological attacks?
- What about so-called "dirty bombs?"
- Is closing the airspace over Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant something that is still a concern to some people?
- Is there a concern about suicide bombings, like the ones we have seen in Israel?
