More than 42 million people around the world are infected with the HIV and the AIDS virus. And according to a new UN report, half of all those infected are women.
In a moment, we'll learn about HIV and AIDS in New Hampshire.
But first, to help put a more human face to these numbers, UNH graduate and composer Tim Janis is bringing a concert series to the region.
The series features an HIV positive women's choir from South Africa called "Sin-ik-i-tim-ba". Celene Ramadan has the story.

And in Concord, Massachusetts on December 7th. For more information on tickets and tourdates or to buy the CD "A Thousand Summers" you can log on to churchworldservice-dot-org. 100% of the proceeds from the CD sales goes to support CWS HIV/AIDS programs in Africa.

Return to index of stories...
Every year in this country, there are hundreds of babies who end up abandoned or at risk. These are infants who have been born infected with HIV or addicted to a substance used by their mothers.
A couple of years ago we brought you the story of two ladies who founded an organization called ABC Quilts in Northwood New Hampshire. They work to provide comfort to these babies. This is their story.
