Craig Benson was inaugurated today as New Hampshire's 79th governor. The ceremony was held before an overflow audience at the state house in Concord. Here are some highlights of the day's events.
No keys - already in the package.

My guests are Kathy Sullivan, chair of the NH Democratic Party and John Dowd, chair of the NH Republican Party.
1: We'll get to the particulars in a moment but I'd like your overall reaction to the speech - and the broad themes it contained.
John - any update on the executive orders?
2: He said we need to change the way we do and think about things - and become independent of the status quo. What does that mean?
3: Craig Benson said "It's time to solve the education crisis once and for all" - I'd swear that was just about word for word what Gov. Shaheen said in each of her inaugurations. What's different this time?
What about the fact that it's been a Republican legislature for all this time.
4: Don't bring problems, bring solutions. Where I come from, the customer is always right. Clearly, the new governor was displaying his origins in business.
He also said the customers had just spoken in record-breaking numbers and what they said is: 'no income tax or sales tax."
5: He announced an adopt-a-school plan that would "allow businesses in our public schools" - what would that entail?
He told a personal story of a high school counselor who gave up on him by telling him he could never go to college - and used that to emphasize we cannot give up on our children. Certainly themes both parties would support.
6: He wants to encourage health care competition. What sort of changes could that entail?
7: Governor Benson singled out five individuals whom he called "community entrepreneurs" - people who have worked to make a difference in their communities. What lesson do you think he was getting at in drawing attention to these individuals?
8: We saw more of the personal side of Craig Benson today, with his pastor delivering the benediction and his wife, daughters, brother, mother and father all in attendance.
9: What kind of start was this? Best part?
