Joining us this week from the state house in Concord, Tom Fahey of the Union Leader and from the New Hampshire Business Review Bob Sanders. And joining me here in our studio, Christine Gillette from the Portsmouth Herald and our own Richard Ager. Thank you all for joining us. It was a very busy week in Concord. Craig Benson will release his financial disclosure form. There was some debate as to whether he had to do so under an Executive Order issued by former Governor Jeanne Shaheen. That order required all exec branch officials disclosure form.The AG's office has said that order does not appy to new governor. Tom Fahey There will be information on Benson's holdings of Enterasys. We learned last week that the State Bureau of Securities Regulation is investigating Enterasys. The SEC is conducting its own investigation and there's a class action lawsuit. Also, there's a class action lawsuit against Cabletron, which names Benson. Bob you've been following this story. Craig Benson took care of some business on this his first "official" week as Governor. First on the agenda the okay by house and senate fiscal committee to okay a hiring freeze. Richard. The Governor also went before the Executive Council on a number of matters. One was withdrawing money items from the agenda. Also, the Governor put forward his nominee for Commissioner of Health and Human Services. Nick Vailas - founder of Bedford Ambulatory surgical Center and has served on the certificate of need board. Some say Vailas has been in favor of reducing government's say over ehalthcare - at one time siggesting that the Con board be eliminated. Then he was appointed to the board by Governor Shaheen.What's been the reaction to the nominee. Speaking of the Con board, Christine you're covering a contentious fight over which seacoast hospital will get the okay from the Con board for a cancer treatment center. Portsmouth Hospital and Wentworth-Douglass have teamed up and Exeter Hospital wants a center on its campus. Legislature took a look at several bills this week - one issue that's come up again - redistricting. There are 8 bills dealing with redistricting…Richard Executive Council okays 6 million for Conway by-pass. . Diocese of Manchester Task Force |
