This week - the Senate Judiciary committee voted to amend the parental notification bill. It strips the bill of its legal requirement that parents be notifed if their underage daughter is seeking an abortion. Instead - the amendment requires abortion providers to offer counselling on all options.
The full Senate takes up this issue next week - and could decide to restore parental notification to the bill.

Dairy farms are dissapearing from New Hampshire's landscape. That's because they face the challenge of trying to operate in 2003 at 1979 income levels. Edith, you were at a meeting in Concord today.Milk pricing was addressed - how is that impacting the farmers and what possible solutions were proposed?

Return to index of stories...
The brainstorming continues about what should be done now that the Old Man of the Mountain is no more. Should there simply be a memorial site - or should it be rebuilt ? The Commissioner of the New Hampshie Department of Resources and Economic Development - George Bald - told us the Governor's Old Man task force will look at all options submitted to the group.

It seems anything that involves education stirs up debate. That's certainly true when it comes to the No Child Left Behind Act. Jeff, there's concern it willl turn into an unfunded mandate. First, the Legislature, voted to allow districts to opt out - but then changed its mind. What's going on?
