A woman, under the age of 18, who wants to have an abortion in New Hampshire may soon be required by law to notify her parents. Thursday, the state Senate voted 12 to 11 to approve the parental notification bill. The issue sparked sevearl hours of debate.

Two presidential candidates release two plans before NH trips

May 22 – Two presidential candidates presented plans on health care and helping rural Wednesday as primers to their trips to the Granite State this weekend.
Sens. Joe Lieberman and John Edwards released their plans in Washington, D.C., and Iowa before attending conference calls with local reporters. Each believes their plan should be made more of a national priority than President Bush’s tax cuts currently being debated on Capitol Hill. They believe the tax cut is for the wealthiest of Americans, while the Bush Administration contends a large amount of tax cuts go to seniors and would stimulate the economy.
