" I believe there are few things more important to a person's dignity, to a family's security, and to our nation's prosperity than the chance to engage in honest labor and to earn a decent living doing it. That is why we need to do whatever is necessary to create jobs and restart America's economic engines. Last month, I detailed my proposals to do just that, by reducing the tax cuts Mr Bush gave to the richest Amerticans, we can invest the savaings in, number one, funding jobs that improve our homeland security, number tow, giving fiscal relief to states so that they don;t have to increase tuition and property taxes, and number 3, creating a new job creation tax credit that willreduce the cost for a business to hire a new employee. |
Intro Partial Birth AbortionReturn to index of stories... |

Partial Birth AbortionReturn to index of stories... |
Gregg 50:19:05 - Well first off people have to understand what it it. It's the taking of a life of a child in the final term. Very near birth. And it basically means that you take you take the child out of the womb alive. A child that can live and then basically terminate the child's life. It's a barbaric procedure. Doctor Frist the only doctor in the senate describes it as barbaric and totally inappropriate to persue. And it is outside the issue of abortion rights because it's outside the second trimester because its in the third trimester. So it's not an issue in any way on cuting back the rights of women to have abortions. Which is a right you have under the constitution. But it is an issue of protecting the child and basically not having a procedure thats barbaric being used in our country. 51:11:22 1:07:13 Not everyone is going to agree on every issue but if you look at the public support and the bipartisan majorities in the house and the senate. And the people who have looked in a very thoughtful way at this issue as to whether this is a procedure that was justified or necessary. They came to the same conclusion. It's not something that we can do and should do and the president is going to sign the legislation. 1:07:37 |
