Hello. I'm Richard Ager, Beth Carroll is off. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook.
With one convention down and one to go, it's time for the half time report with our partisan political prognosticators.
In this corner, the chair of the NH Kerry campaign - Bill Shaheen.
And on his right, Republican National Committee member Tom Rath. Welcome to both of you.

The President surfaced as soon as the convention was over. In fact, both campaigns are on tours - It's the "Heart and soul of America" tour for the Republicans and the "Believe in America" tour for the Democrats. Here's a bit from both.

One of the more remarkable sights at the convention was the presence of a large group of former military officers endorsing Kerry.
And then was the speech by Wesley Clark on the final night that seemed made to hammer home one message. Let's hear it.

Bill - I spoke with you at a Democratic dinner early last year, a week after you decided to back John Kerry.
I'd like to take you back - and listen to what you said then.

One of the big surprises of the DNC was the appearance by Barack Obama, the candidate for U.S. Senate in Illinois.
Most viewers had never heard of him - but his speech changed that.

Tuesday, August 3. 2004:
Tom Rath and Bill Shaheen were guests. We delayed the start of the show a bit because Shaheen brought in a "deck of cards" with pictures of his wife, John Kerry, George Bush, etc and we had to scan them. They were okay with waiting to get it done. We finished by 6pm.
