Hello. I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook.
On Tuesday, Republican Governor Craig Benson and Democratic challenger John Lynch met in the first of four gubernatorial debates.
With recent polls showing both candidates for governor in a dead heat, these debates could prove decisive in helping New Hampshire voters decide.
So once the niceties were dispensed with, both candidates came out swinging.

This was the first of four debates between John Lynch and Craig Benson.
The next gubernatorial debate happens Thursday in Berlin -- so look for more questions about the economy, particularly as it relates to the North Country.
We'll take a look at some of that debate on our Friday edition of
New Hampshire Outlook.

Tuesday, October 12, 2004:
We turned around the gubernatorial debate from this morning to air on tonight's show so we delayed taping until 6pm. We had to stop briefly to make an edit because of a color change in the view. A patch caused a burn in the video. We finished just before 6:45pm.
