Hello/Intro PierceReturn to index of stories... |
Hello. I'm Richard Ager sitting in for Beth Carroll. Welcome to this special edition of New Hampshire Outlook. Franklin Pierce served as President during a difficult time in this nation's history, as northern and southern states engaged in a bitter debate over slavery. We'll talk to the author of a new book about Pierce in a few minutes, and discuss his place in history - but first, we'll take a look at a new exhibit on the life of Franklin Pierce. |

The exhibit at the New Hampshire Historical Society continues through May, 2005. Joining me now are Peter Wallner, author of Franklin Pierce: New Hampshire's Favorite Son, and Douglas Ley, professor of history at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge. Welcome to both of you. |

Wednesday, April 6, 2005: This show was a repeat so we taped a summer program that will air on June 22nd. We started shortly after 5pm. We had one false start. All went well. Finished by 5:40pm. Director's Log: Everything seemed to go just fine. Drew was AD again and did a great job. Also, I mentioned to crew to be careful of when to speak on headsets since it may be a bad time for me to hear them. Speaking of headsets, tonight was the first official taping of the headsets. It is by my desk if anyone wants to listen to it. |
