Hello, I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to NH Outlook.
We're here at the NH Political Library in Concord for a conversation with 2nd district Congressman Paul Hodes --now serving his first term in Congress.
He was elected in 2006 when democrats were swept into power with an ambitious agenda to end the war, curb corruption and do more to help the middle class.
This is our 2nd in a series of conversations with NH's Congressional delegation in an effort to bring you their perspectives on key issues facing the country.
Congressman Hodes, Welcome.

“The latest suggestion from the Iraqi government seems to be to set a 10-year timeline. That’s unacceptable,” said Rep. Paul Hodes.
“When we think of the needs here, and look at the billions being spent in Iraq, it’s difficult for people to justify that.”
The White House has pushed back against any tie-in between the war and the current economic downturn.

This is the second in a series of "check-in" interviews with our representatives in Congress.
From time to time, we like to talk to New Hampshire's delegration about issues important to you.
Next, we'll be sitting down with NH's senior senator Judd Gregg.
That does it for us here at the NH Political Library inside the State Library in Concord.
Special thanks to them, and thank you for watching NH Outlook.
I'm Beth Carroll.
I'll see you next time.
