There's a lot at stake November 5. When voters go to the polls they'll choose a new Governor, US Senator, two US House members and hundreds of State Legislators. New Hampshire Outlook wants to help make those choices more informed. So from now until the election, we're presenting profiles and conducting interviews of nominees in the key races. We begin our coverage with the race for governor and an interview with Democratic Nominee Mark Fernald. |

You're a proponent of an income tax to fund education in combination with property taxes that would be cut in half. In a survey of likely Novemmber voters, conducted by the UNH Survey Center - the number 1 solution to pay for education was gambling. Knowing that, how can you convince voters that your plan is a viable solution to ed funding. We followed you on the campaign trail and watched as you explained your plan to someone in Berlin.Let's listen. Pretty complicated - how can you make the message more easily understood? Are you a single issue candidate? You favor the elimination of the Business Enterprise Tax and the Interest and Dividends tax. Why ? How will you make up the difference? During the primary you were asked to site your accomplishments during the two terms you've been in the state senate. What are they? On WMUR during your debate with Senator Hollingworth, you were asked if you were Governor in NH and a civil union bill legalizing same-sex marriages was passed by the state legislature, if you would sign it. Some weren't clear on your position. What is it? What are the biggest differences between you and Craig Benson? |

On the next New Hampshire Outlook - Republicans and Democrats seek unity within their parties. Can they do it after one of the most acrimonious campaigns in New Hampshire history? We'll hear from both sides of the political spectrum as they prepare their campaign strategies for November. |
